The STARMED America Clinical Affairs team is the group of medical, scientific, and clinical experts responsible for the accuracy of the educational content on starmed-america.com. Every clinical claim we publish about radiofrequency ablation (RFA) — efficacy figures, safety data, procedure details, and reimbursement information — is grounded in peer-reviewed literature, FDA-cleared device labeling, and current CMS coding, and is reviewed by this team before and after publication.
Our content review process is built to keep STARMED’s published medical information accurate, current, and traceable to primary sources.
Shirley Wang, MBA, RDMS, RVT — Clinical Applications & Clinical Affairs, STARMED America
Shirley is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) who holds a Bachelor of Medical Radiology Science and an MBA. She brings 15 years of experience in clinical applications and interventional medical devices, focused on diagnostic imaging and image-guided radiofrequency ablation. Because thyroid RFA is performed under ultrasound guidance, her imaging and clinical-applications background directly informs the review of STARMED’s procedural, imaging, and patient-selection content.
Korea-based Clinical & Biomedical Science Team
STARMED’s content review also draws on the company’s Korea-based clinical and scientific specialists, whose backgrounds span medical science, bioscience, nursing, and medical information — including PhD-level scientists. They support STARMED’s RFA research, clinical evaluation, and evidence review, and form the scientific core of the company’s clinical and device expertise. These team members have chosen not to be individually named.
Brian Alexander, BS — National Sales & Marketing Manager, STARMED America
Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and has 10 years of experience in interventional medical devices, focused on radiofrequency ablation. He supports STARMED’s content with practical knowledge of the device portfolio, procedural workflow, and the U.S. adoption and reimbursement landscape, including CPT coding — distinct from the clinical-accuracy review performed by the Clinical Affairs team above.
Collectively, the STARMED America Clinical Affairs team combines credentials in diagnostic imaging, medical radiology science, and biomedical science with extensive experience in radiofrequency ablation and interventional medical devices. This mix of formal clinical and scientific training and deep domain experience is what allows the team to review RFA content for accuracy and keep it aligned with the current evidence base, FDA-cleared device labeling, and CMS coding.
